We thought abut a Golden! I wanted something less monotonous though. Border collies are so cute but I'd never be able to give it enough stimulation.

No joke here, pitties are perfect family dogs. Can't recommend them enough.

Aww, dobies are big goofballs. They can have behavioral issues but so can any dog. Just gotta do your research so you're prepared!

I've never actually met a Dobie in person, I've definitely heard that, unless trained for guarding, they're very cute and friendly.
Either way, fortunately I don't need one!

She definitely shouldnt. A dog died in her care(it was her husbands) as she was chained outside and couldnt get to water on a 90 degree day.

they dont deservce dogs and i could think of a few more that dont.

I like the saying that says "Every dog deserves a home but not every home deserves a dog"

My family has a neighbor who leaves their husky out year around with minimal shelter. It gets over 90 regularly there in the summer!

Hopefully they wont be getting another dog any time soon.
They have a baby with another on the way and cats. Plus have no time for a dog.

My family has had two pittie mixes! They were great, and they're so cute. The first one was a mutt, the current one is a lab/beagle/pit mix. My husband doesn't like them though. ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

Dobies are perfectly fine with toddlers, it’s how you manage them. But yeah, I totally get it! They aren’t for everyone! And a lot of people get them that shouldn’t. They are a handful.

They aren't a preferred breed for children in terms of natural temperament. Almost any dog can be fine with toddlers, but some are naturally inclined to be much better. So just to be safe and not have to go an extra mile or two to make a dog work, were sticking to preferred breeds.
