A golden retriever German shepherd mix sounds like an amazing working dog. Assuming they aren’t both show line

That’s weird, I wouldn’t think so. Is the golden a show line or working?

Wouldn't think so about what, the "designer" aspect? That's what all the articles on that mix told me. Looking at an additional thing, it says they started as a designer breed, but got popular and became a lot more common since 2009.
Don't know what type of golden it is.

Yes, maybe it's just because I am so focused on the working aspect of breeds. When I think of goldens I think of SAR and hunting. When I think of German Shepherds I think of police dogs, SAR, and ring sports. But I guess if they are show line it would be considered designer? Honestly I'm am not even entirely sure what designer dogs are.

People wanting specific mixes from pure dogs for aesthetic purposes, I think is basically what a designer dog is.

Yeah, it seems natural to me that it would cause those extremes, but I'm sure it depends on the mix. He just wants the dogs to go to nice homes so they're only $300. He said "I'm very flexible on the price and if you take two I'll give you a discount" XD

I wouldnt take 2 littermate syndrome is really difficult to deal with.

Yep, both parents were registered with some health testing

I dont see mixes as designer. A lot of mixes especially doodles are genetic nightmares since they dont do any testing and most puppies end up in shelters for not being fsmily friendly.
Im not saying all mixes as ive know a lot and have had one myself.

Like french bulldog x poodles french bulldogs are already genetic nightmares now add in more

Today i want a aussie, like most days but today im really appreciating the natural bob or docking. I love natural tails but the last week.

I could see it as designer if someone purposely takes two show lines of those breeds. But designer is definitely not my first thought on the mix. Two working lines of those breeds would be an amazing working dog and not a designer dog I believe
