My current "want" isn't so much a breed as it is a specific dog. My Mom wanted a rescue but no one would consider her due to her age. She's an overactive, very independent 85! So - it was "Breeder or Bust." Enter Murphy - a hyperactive, too expensive cross between a toy poodle and a bichon. He's super sweet and absolutely adorable, but at six months, his tiny teeth and ridiculously high energy are wreaking havoc on her & my stepdad's tender skin. She LOVES Murphy and is working hard to settle and train him. She's an experienced puppy owner and knows what to do, but even her vet admits that Murphy's "exceptionally challenging" for his breed - his words, not ours! Personally, I liken him to a spider monkey on crack ... with a pogo stick!
So - I'd like to take on this sweet little hellion for a couple of months to teach him some matters and self control. He's not going to overwhelm me or my ever-patient Newfie mix and he can go home once he's figured out how to coexist without thinking that everything around him is a plaything or a reason to become airborne!
To her credit ... Mom's actually considering my offer!
