What Dog Breed Do You Want Today!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

I had one of those, he was a nightmare for those first few years but then we moved out to the country and he became all zen and snuggly. I think beagles really need some space to be chaotic and sniffy and then they're such good dogs. 10/10 would own again.
Oh wow that’s awesome!!!! That makes sense. Thankfully we have a big yard and also on walks or whatever, I always let them sniff, so that would probably help. Plus having a friend to play with which I do (Brew) LOL

I would love an Irish Wolfhound or Great Dane ( i love big dogs) but they make me poor cos they need a lot of food, the other thing is that they don’t grow old :( my vet owns 2 Irish wolfhounds, she usually has to let them go when they are 6/7 years old 😰
That’s so sad!!!!!

My current "want" isn't so much a breed as it is a specific dog. My Mom wanted a rescue but no one would consider her due to her age. She's an overactive, very independent 85! So - it was "Breeder or Bust." Enter Murphy - a hyperactive, too expensive cross between a toy poodle and a bichon. He's super sweet and absolutely adorable, but at six months, his tiny teeth and ridiculously high energy are wreaking havoc on her & my stepdad's tender skin. She LOVES Murphy and is working hard to settle and train him. She's an experienced puppy owner and knows what to do, but even her vet admits that Murphy's "exceptionally challenging" for his breed - his words, not ours! Personally, I liken him to a spider monkey on crack ... with a pogo stick!
So - I'd like to take on this sweet little hellion for a couple of months to teach him some matters and self control. He's not going to overwhelm me or my ever-patient Newfie mix and he can go home once he's figured out how to coexist without thinking that everything around him is a plaything or a reason to become airborne!
To her credit ... Mom's actually considering my offer!

Does your mom have another dog to help tire her out? When young dogs play a lot. Her pup could just need a friend or playdate to help burn off energy.

This is why I never got a wolfhound. I couldn't handle that short life.

True. Brew was a TERROR as an adolescent but we hiked a lot so he ran with other dogs on the trails and we also had play dates with his friends.

Same for Great Danes and Newfies etc.
