What Hatcheries? (Poll)

I've bought from a few of the hatcheries over the years McMurrays, Meyers, Hoovers, and years ago I pretty much had good luck with all of them. I believe the biggest share of the time when DOA chicks are involved it's due to mishandling during shipping. I have found a hatchery that I've been using now for the last several years that I'm hooked on. Mainly for the quality of their birde and the great customer service I get from them. I'm sure most of you are familiar with them chickenscratchpoultry.com Of course I still have to worry about the postal trip they take but I've been lucky so far. I think I've only lost 2 chicks in many orders from them and they always quickly make it right, no questions asked. Good Luck all (y)

i ordered from cackle 2 times and chicks were all dead both times

There can be many factors why the chicks died, and not just the hatchery. Maybe the postal worker handling them slammed them down. Who knows. They are live animals, so many things can go wrong.

Our local Rural King uses Privett Hatchery, and I've been really impressed so far with the quality of the birds they sell. I got my Pom gosling through them and she's grown up to be very close to SOP.
