What is the best paint/gloss or whatever you call it to put on pressure treated wood so that my chickens are exposed to the chemicals. Also what is the price?

I would say a deck stain or something. They can get very high in price

I don't know what the best is. Any good brand name exterior latex or stain is probably fine. I use, and am happy with, Sherwin Williams. Probably more important than what brand to use is to let your PT wood cure/dry out for awhile before painting.

Yes, VERY important....paint wet PT and the paint will peel off and your birds will be eating two 'toxins'.

I suppose you mean NOT exposed?
If you're worried about exposure, maybe don't use PT?

Check on Craigslist for paint...... they usually sell for very cheap because they are leftovers from someone's project!

A man recently recomended that i use Linseed oil. Any thoughts? It's supposedly to protect them from the pressure treated chemicals.
