I am figuring I need to increase the protein levels of my laying hens right now, since they are eating so many weeds that I pull out of the garden, and the smaller or deformed looking strawberries out of the strawberry patch.

Will giving them BOSS increase or decrease their protein levels?

What can I give them to increase their protein levels, if BOSS will not do it? Would giving them some of the babies chick starter feed be a good idea?

Most likely decrease there over all protein. BOSS will range from 15 to 17 percent protein.

Chick starter is a good way to increase there protein amount.

    BOSS is around 16% protein.
Chick starter is great for laying hens- just get the unmedicated feed and offer oyster shell. Some folks just feed that forever.

Flock Raiser is 20% protein if I'm not mistaken. Add oyster shell, boss. Starter is great too.
