This pigeon landed on my porch roof. I'm assuming it's domesticated, but I know very little about birds.
It was very calm and let me catch it.

I also have no idea what to offer it for food.
Any type of seeds will work. If you don’t have seeds, quinoa, cooked rice, cooked de-shelled peas, or even chicken crumble are good temporary foods. Here’s a sample of the seeds I feed my pigeons:

You can buy pigeon or dove mix at many pet shops or farm stores.

Thank you! I have quinoa on hand.

I was debating what to do with it. If it was a homing pigeon, in theory I could let it out and it would fly home as long as it was strong enough. I just wasn't sure if it was a homing pigeon.

Even lost homing pigeons often have a hard time getting home if they’ve flown off-course. This one doesn’t look like a breed with homing instincts.

Oh dear. Now I don't know what to do. I doubt my husband will want to keep it. Guess I gotta ask around to find out who keeps pigeons.
