Found on the edge of a nesting box.

We've had a hen laying super soft shell eggs while she roosts and now the others are eating them.
HELP!
So, I saw the rest of the flock eating at one of the shells again, and then this was in the nesting house ... could be from same egg?
How do I stop this?
 
It could very likely be the hen who has been laying soft eggs. They can experience a lot of different of different oddities if they are having reproductive problems. Impacted oviduct is common, and can lead to internal laying or egg yolk peritonitis. Salpingitis is an infection in the oviduct, and that may not be what you are dealing with.
