What treat did your chickies get today?

This morning I made a veggie mix and cooked it in 3 cups of water with half of a beef broth cube.(didn't want to use a whole one they are kinda salty) We haven't given it to the girls yet but hopefully they like it! It has cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, red peppers, lettuce, and a couple pieces of cubed potatoes mashed. It smells pretty good!

Just gave my girls a head of broccoli that I forgot was in the fridge, and was starting to get a little less than firm. Why do I keep putting things in that darn little drawer at the bottom of the fridge, I never remember to look in there! The girls loved the treat, though - gone in 20 min!

Today, a few handfuls of Corn Chex. Yesterday they got a few handfuls of kale, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries, and half of a frozen banana. They went nuts over the berries... A hands down crowd favorite!

I had a bag of baby spinach (buy one get one free) that got left in the fridge a couple days too long. I added a little boiled egg and some cheese - they had a spinach salad.

Mine got their very first taste of wheatgrass this morning and ate every last bit of it, grass, seeds and root mat. (No soil) I also gave then some older frozen (thawed) corn niblets to keep them warm tonight when the temps drop.

Next time I would skip the beef broth(salt, as you said) they'll like it anyway. Mine got baby rat that Reba(one of my dogs) dug out and killed. Yuk. :x They thought it was awesome.

How do you all serve apples to your girls? Which way seems to be best received? Whole, sliced, grated? I have a bunch of soft apples I'd like to give them

I have peeled and cored applesthen shred them in my processor and mixed with other scraps, cut them by hand into tiny pieces, and just thrown a whole one in the run for them to roll around and peck at. They eat it all ways so I don't know which way is better!

My girls got some soaked alfalfa pellets which they didn't like at all. Maybe I have to mix something up with it? I bought a HUGE bag of them.
