I'm not "misinformed," I've done my research, & studies, & I do so every day when I get the chance.
This is what I don't understand about you. If you have the knowledge why not share it?
You often speak of how highly educated you are but you won't help others.
I myself wouldn't say I'm highly educated. I know a little about a lot and a lot about a little.
I don't research unless I really have to because it's not my thing. I like learning from doing and I've been doing with chickens for a long time.
That gives me some knowledge and in a way a different way of learning then a lot of the younger ones here that grew up with the internet and ways to get info at light speed compared to how I did it.
I love coming here and seeing different perspectives and learning about stuff I never dealt with before.
I also love to share what I know with others whenever I can. And it's most fun when you can be a part of someone else getting excited about a subject you know and help them understand something they didn't before.

Why in the world do you bring stuff up that others like myself disagree with or don't understand but then you want to drop it.
Why not stand behind what you say and explain it or share where you're getting your information.
It's like you're constantly saying ha ha I'm right and you all are all wrong. I'm highly educated and have done the research but I can't waste my time explaining anything to you or sharing resources.
That seems mean to me.

Barred Rock Breeding with interesting results in coloring.

Light Barred Rock Rooster X Dark Barred Hen = 50% Barred Males - 50% Barred Females.

Dark Barred Roo X Dark Barred Hen = 25% Barred Males - 25% Barred Females - 25% Solid Black Males - 25% Solid Black Females.

Barred Rock Roo X Solid Black Hen = 25% Barred Males - 25% Barred Females - 25% Solid Black Males - 25% Solid Black Females.

Solid Black Roo X Barred Hen = 50% Barred Males - 50% Solid Black Females.

The first grouping is a pure bred to pure bred... .anything after that is crosses. A pure bred barred rock rooster would never be 'dark' or 'black'.
Those are pure lines. The Dark Barred Rooster is a single barred, bred to a barred hen resulting in blacks to appear. That's what the experiment is supposed too show if done correctly. Planning to try this sometime.

The solid black hens, & roosters from the previous barred rock breedings are used in the experiment, no other breed. I guess you can try using Australorps, but those are a different breed.

I don't think you realize that barred rock isn't a breed. It's a color variety of a breed. Barred is the color. Plymouth Rock is the breed. Plymouth Rocks come in black as well.

A pure bred Barred Rock male has double barring. Period. That's the breed standard. And its how its an autosexing breed... why would you want to change that?
Fact: A period actually starts at the beginning of a sentence.
It's not that I want to change it, it's just that I want to prove something.

Just thought I'd share something interesting.
