The silver is from the father's side, so is some of the Extended black. Most of the wheaten, & extended black comes from the mother.
Gold comes from both parents.

Wanna see how big my Red JungleFowl pullets have gotten? They're just starting to lose the baby fluff on their faces.
Yes, they were confirmed to be Red JungleFowl by somebody I know, I'm not mentioning names.
I figured out the subspecies they belong to. They belong to a RJF subspecies called: Gallus Gallus Gallus, or Cochin-Red JungleFowl, AKA Chinese Red JungleFowl. They're found primarily in IndoChina. The subspecies have both slate, & mossy green legs.

So the father passed silver and gold as well as some wheaten and extended black to that cockerel.
And the mother passed on most of the wheaten and extended black as well as gold.
you really need to start over with your genetics research. You really are clueless on how it works.

The guy had to many of them, & wanted to get rid of them. He had 20 - 30 excess chicks hatch unexpectedly.

You can't deny the possibility, you can't completely reject it.

Why not?
You deny the possibility that they're anything except RJF and completely reject the fact that you're ever wrong.
If the guy had excess RJF he could easily sell them for good money and have people lined up for them. He wouldn't need to go to a swap and give them away.

When you have no clue how the genes are inherited that is called clueless.
Its fact and has nothing to do with being nice or not.
A rooster can't pass on silver and gold. Only one or the other.
Neither a rooster or hen can pass on wheaten and extended black. It has to be one or the other.
You can't have a bird that is wheaten/wheaten and extended black.
That's simple genetics.
