When did hens start keeping people?

Chickens may act tough, but, if you live where snow accumulates , they'll be at your mercy if you don't shovel it. Ha ha!
Either at your mercy ... or at your back door. On the few occasions when he managed to escape (DD left the door unlatched!) Herman sat on the (partially cleared) back steps and sulked until someone let him in. Either way, they're underfoot!

mine i got trained ya don't start before 7 am, he's seen the other cockerels get sent off, had one jerk that would start a crowing fest at 3 am with the others, then jerk would go back to sleep lol
WOW! That fellow has you trained to leave your earplugs in until 7 am? That's impressive! :D

You ladies (and guys) really have to stop this. I need new panties every 5 minutes. And I already half choked on my Diet Coke. Plus: if my chickens see me laugh this hard about them, they're going to send a trained hit hen and I still want to live. So cut the crap and quit talking bad about them and start praising them.

I believe Hit Hens are real!

Well I am afraid of your agricultural chicken. They sound like a scarier version of mine. WTF kindof chicken doesnt need me to go to the feed store for potatoe chips and candied orange slices?

TSC orange slices are the Best! :highfive:

Lol, of course the hens are in charge! Actually, all animals rule over us and own us, and we are nothing more than their willing servants. We get up and go to work every day so we can afford their food... we lug home huge bags of it, we feed them daily on their schedule, we build them nice homes or shelters (dog houses, coops, barns etc.), we take them for walks in all kinds of weather, we scoop de poop, we let some of them sleep on our silkiest pillows (cats!)... and what, pray tell, do they do for us in return? Catch a mouse when it suits them, bark at an occasional squirrel, lay an egg every now and then, take us on trail rides.... snuggle up with us when we're sad or lonely, allow us to pet them, greet us with a cackle, a neigh, a purr or a wet, sloppy kiss .... oh wait. Yeah, that's quite enough, isn't it! :love
