Speaking of silkies, all three of mine are Roos! The lady who gave em to me had them dna tested to find out!My boyfriend asked where my seabright mixes came from. I pointed to the parents and it took him a second to realize they don't need to be under mama to hatch. He hadn't had caffeine in his defense. I'm looking into a new incubator by the fall to create my own bantam army. If anyone has any silkie breeding tips they'd be welcomed.

It just got done cooking up a batch of chicks for me last week, of 24 eggs. (15 hatched.) 4 days ago I put in another 42! (How may of y'all would be interested in a hatch-a-long??)
And I bought 2 EE pullets at the feed store.

Exactly what happened to me! Well, the second time chicks ended up coming home with me this year.Yep, I stayed strong all Spring....until I stopped at TSC yesterday to buy more (adult) chicken food.
That's when I made the collosal mistake of looking into the tub of fuzzy little beans labeled "Assorted Bantams," after that I didn't stand a chance!
but they are SOOOOO cute!
