Silkies and polish can be skiddish goofy birds. Usually due to them not being able to see. My polish are calmer now that I trim their crests and they can see.

My disabled granddaughter with our Silkie roo, Smudge. He was most skittish of all my Silkie chicks. But believe me, with Kendra spending so much time outside in her wheelchair I won’t have a single bird out there that I can’t trust 100%. Smudge came around to not only accepting us but actually enjoying being with us the same way my other chickens did...making all moves out there slow and deliberate, always chatting with them in a quiet voice, and simply sitting on the grass with treats and letting them come to me, rather than me forcing myself on them.
That will be an exciting day for all of you..Not yet! But come late spring after our travel schedule slows down we have plans to get more. I miss them, the grandkids miss them, and Ken misses the eggs!
That will be an exciting day for all of you..![]()
What a beautiful Wolfhound..Um, yeah, maybe more exciting than we expect - we have somehow, despite our travels, acquired a puppy that will have to be trained to accept them.
