Why are my silkies so skiddish?

D3538E35-40AF-4455-8A90-23E954401D99.jpeg my silkies are fairly friendly but won’t come up and eat out of my hand. they are calmest when I flip them over and rub their belly. my EE are my fastest flightiest chicks. my original 6 Rir/BA will eat out of my hand but don’t particularly like being held or petted. The turkeys on the other hand will follow hubs anywhere, climb on him and peck at you to get attention!

I have Silkies..I was supposed to get 3 Hens and a Rooster and I got one Hen and 3 Roosters. The mature Rooster is aggressive and scares the heck out of me. Him and one other Cockerel/ Rooster leave Sunday when I get my Hens.
Not cuddly Birds. I don't hold my Birds anyways although I don't need an aggressive Rooster.

My disabled granddaughter with our Silkie roo, Smudge. He was most skittish of all my Silkie chicks. But believe me, with Kendra spending so much time outside in her wheelchair I won’t have a single bird out there that I can’t trust 100%. Smudge came around to not only accepting us but actually enjoying being with us the same way my other chickens did...making all moves out there slow and deliberate, always chatting with them in a quiet voice, and simply sitting on the grass with treats and letting them come to me, rather than me forcing myself on them.

:frow..You have Chickens again...:woot

Um, yeah, maybe more exciting than we expect - we have somehow, despite our travels, acquired a puppy that will have to be trained to accept them.

Meet our 8 month old puppy, Fiona. Got a ton of growing left to do, too!!
What a beautiful Wolfhound..:hugs...I love Dogs...:hugs

Me too. Our dream dog for over thirty years, which is why when this one practically fell into our laps we couldn’t resist, travel or no travel. So she’s spent some time in a wonderful boarding kennel, bit it’s had no effect on her sweet, laid back personality. She’s adjusted to our somewhat unorthodox schedule quite well.

But I’ve done hijacked another thread, and I do apologize.
