Winterizing my bantam coop

i only have two bantams in this beautiful cedar coop and I’m concerned about keeping them warm through the cold BC Winters. It’s can reach -20 in late jan-early feb. I’m building a leanto shed over it and tacking up some old blankets around it to insulate it.

Do our guys have any other ideas on how to keep my lil girls warm? Ones polish and ones Japanese if that helps

Also, I still can’t fogure out how to safely light it. ANYideas would be greatly appreciated.

It is my first winter with chickens so I don't have alot of experience but I will share what I did to prepare for winter. In Alberta we have temperture dipping down to -30 sometimes -40 C. My coop is insulated and the run is covered with heavy duty plastic wrap. I make sure that there is good ventilation. I have a heated dog bowl for water and I installed a sweeter heater over the roost . Its not plugged in but I wanted it just in case for those cold nights. I have 6 chickens (4 bantams and 2 standard size). I also plan on adding more deeper shavings into the run and coop.

I've had poor luck keeping Japanese over winter. They are not cold hardy at all.

Polish fair slightly better.

My bantams are kept in my garage over winter.
