Hi All!

CS... I let my chickens out in they rain....They don't always go!.... but they are let out. LOL Sometimes they try getting out between showers. Some don't mind a light rain. Others will just stand by the door, others don't bother to get off the roost! The turkeys and guineas don't seem to mind as much.

Lost the first Ameraucana I ever had today. She had an impacted croup and I was treating her. If it didn't move I was going to open her up today (Sat) but Young son got real sick (flue?) so couldn't help.

Looks like she went in her sleep last night though.
Guess that's it.... Night All!

Good wet morning All! Don't worry Cindy they get lots O lovin! Good thing their bones are soft, man the beatin they inflict upon themselves. Makes me hurt just watchin! At 4:30 this AM they were both laying between us purring their hearts out. Sorry to hear of the loss of your hen!

Glad the last kitten got a new home, bet it's quieter there. Here not so much. Oh CC I'm so so sorry about Ramses!

!!!!!!!!! Sounds like some good hatches coming up. Was watching one of those prepper shows last night and they had some chicks on there. The first thing that popped in my head was "Kevins" Thanks ODrH from now on that's what they'll all be.

Bl4 sounds like your bathroom remodel is getting a female flair. Couches, really? cs whoever said madder than a wet hen never owned a chicken! Mine go out in it and if it's raining hard enough it's a line boogying from one shelter to another. Funny to watch. Laura was going to go down to Delevan Friday but her guts are bothering her so we met her son-in-law in Plainfield who was going back home from Rhinelander to pass on some MORE xmas presents. I tell ya what, not a good night for driving! Fog was REAL bad! Taking L to Marshfield tomorrow for her pre-op physical and back on Thurs to have them remove her appendix and secum [sp]. Her guts float inside her and right now her appendix is on the other side and everything squeezes together and pinches off her colon. It's not a rare thing but not very common either. Just hoping this solves her problems. She's had problems since I've known her. Don't think we'll be attending the get together in Wausau for the game. From what I've heard it's an uncallable ending. So Packers 47 Bears 3. Go Pack!

finally starting to get eggs from our hens again

so we will be setting up our breed pens and will hopefully start collecting eggs to set for hatching! We won't have a NYD hatch but will probably have a hatch later in Jan

soccer game later today for DS(10)- last indoor one for the year. Waiting to see the schedule for Jan-March, he is enjoying it so is good.

hoping to make some Christmas cookies as well today.........

LOL! Dr.H you crack me up! Wish L good luck for me, it sounds like something that is an easy fix (but recovery will be a pain...) don't make her laugh!

I have never been good at writing out my thoughts.

I should clarify: I have scored a screaming deal on a set of couches for the living room, so I am ditching the furniture we have for something a little more comfortable. Yes, I did finish caulking the tub last night, but the bathroom still reeks from the silicone. I am attempting to suck all of the fumes out with the ceiling fan/vent so I can get the shower curtain back up! Walls will be done tomorrow I guess since I am doing the furniture thing today.

I am really missing my ducks...... I miss them greeting us every time we would leave the house. I have not seen them since Thanksgiving.


Not much else going on here....I need a second cup of java...

CC I am so sorry about your loss of Ramses!!

My Jaers that I got in April are finally laying, 2 so far, maybe 3. I have decided I must be Carol's chicken retirement home.. I can't bring myself to cull any old hens. Although I need to figure out the best way to trim spurs. Mitchel/Damien whom I got from ODrH has HUGE spurs and a jaerhon roo has scimitars for spurs!!

My DH is sick, most of the employees where I work have been sick. And I am fighting to keep it at bay!!

There is some one in Evansville, Near me who has Guineas to give away and some assorted roosters, I can get her contact info if some one is interested.

ODrH, I need to find a few blue cauckoo marans hens, if you can remember where you got yours from it would be great!

Well I am off to go get hay, then feed the horses, chickens and then drain the pump on the well and then work on DH's car...
