World Egg Day Hatchalong!(October 12, 2012 is World Egg Day!)

haahhaa, I mailed eggs late on Monday and they arrived about 1pm on Wednesday--they can be fast. I also sent eggs to mid west --took 5 days!! Great hatch rate.

Hope your eggs arrive soon!

I would love to join, I have some eggs that should arrive on the 19th which is perfect timing as I always let them settle for at least a day before putting them in. They will be Silver Laced Cochin Bantams, this sounds like so much fun! Is World Egg Day a new thing or has it been around for some time now?

Yes, USPS around is almost always 2 days with priority mail, even from back East, but Illinois civil servants are a special breed, I'll leave it at that,LOL. And frankly, I think they're just having too much fun partying in Louisiana ;). LOL. I got family in both states and love both places dearly, but couldn't handle living there :p

Yaaay, they arrived at the local PO and my hubby is going there to see if he can pick them up before Bill, the mailman takes off with them :D

So I take back everything I implied about Louisiana mail personnel, LOL. They were just as fast as anyone else would have been!

It'll be sad if we loose our postal system, it's really great and inexpensive, but looses a lot of money...:(

My take on it it that don't most if not all federal agencies lose money? By definition they are not a business and depend on our funding dollars.

Perhaps they can save money by making everyone part time like so many other businesses have and deliver just M W F !! ( I'm being sarcastic here for any one taking this seriously.

Yah, I should be too old to fall for scare tactics :p

Hubby said the package already left the PO, so now he's trying to chase our mailman through our neighborhood, LOL

I knew there was a reason I love that guy! LOL. We're too crazy nut-cakes the poor neighbors would like to see gone and replaced with nice yuppies, but alas, not gonna happen! :gig

:celebrate he ran down the postman, who incomprehensibly likes us so obviously didn't send for the paddy wagon as my hubby retrieved the eggs from him and has begun to unwrap them, LOL

*Bounces* I got my first bunch of eggs from North Carolina yesterday :D They all look amazing, had two with cracks, so I have 18 in my incubator this morning :D I got a message from the man in Lousiana who I am getting my 25 other eggs from, and he sent them Wednesday so they should arrive today! It won't be a staggered hatch after all, which is GREAT news for me and my sanity! There will just be babies hatching *crosses fingers* over a couple days or more. :D Will post when those eggs arrive.

I did the same thing to my mailman yesterday. Saw him, waved him down and said "Do you have a box of eggs for me?" He says "Ohhhh...yeah..." and pulled over...handed me the box and asked if they were for eating. I had to explain that no, I will not be eating my Serama eggs. :D

My first half of my setting for this hatch is contentedly incubating away.... my second half, the eggs from Lousiana, did not arrive on Friday as expected...nor Saturday. They should be here tomorrow. The man I am getting them from said to set them and see what the hatch rate is like, and if it is bad, he'll replace them. :hmm Hopefully these are tough, Cajun Seramas LOL!!
