World Egg Day Hatchalong!(October 12, 2012 is World Egg Day!)

I think that would be cool to add up the total number of set eggs, and the total number of hatched eggs. I think there are quite a few people participating, it will be one giant hatch, hahaha. I personally will be setting 20 eggs.

As far as my totaal numbers, I'm not 100% sure yet. I have eggs due to arrive today and I've already set 18. I should be getting 25+ today, so my total *should* be 43+ *fingers crossed these make it to me safely*. That seems like a LOT until you realize that they are all Serama and I'll be looking at a possibly lower hatch rate than a lot of other breeds ;) This is my own personal largest setting ever! It is going to take two incubators and span about 4 weeks...my Big Serama Adventure.

Well, I think I'm going to take the old cooler in our garage and make a larger incubator with it. If I start some TJ eggs for this event, it'll overlap with incoming eggs, and besides, I want to improve my design (make an egg turner that turns from the outside!) Plus it'll be a lot bigger....

Yup, time to join Incubator's Anonymouss, LOL

Ok...total count for me is going to be 47 O.O I just got my second bunch of eggs from Louisiana, 29 perfect little Serama eggs. :D

This is my last hatch for this year, planning to go out with a bang :D

hi all,can i join ,i just rec'd 12 australorp eggs & plan to set these with 12 light sussex eggs on the 21st,in a new incubator .so hoping all will be good ,had a 95%hatch with my old incubator but it gave up the ghost lol cheers Pete

Of course, Pete!

LOL Aschenfire, Awesome, hope they ALL hatch and you're over run with Seramas, LOL

Hubby and I just got home from Trader Joe's and he made me stand there at the egg display and candle them with a flashlight, with his hat to dim the light around us! He's so embarrassing! Then he always stops at the food sample place and gets a few helpings, then some coffee. He is well known there, and I'm glad I seldom join him as I don't care for such notoriety, LOL. Now they're settling in the incubator room (aka, my daughter's room)

Oh my gosh, so in order to do this, I have to make a second incubator because my Seramas are going to arrive in two weeks! So I'm building a bigger an hopefully better incubator for them, LOL.

Anyways, how many of us are there setting tomorrow?

Technically, my 29 from Jerry in Louisiana went in on Friday, so that'd be "tomorrow". The others are exactly a week ahead.

I will be setting eggs probably on Wednesday. It will be about 5 days late, but I would like to join. I will have duck eggs (although these will hatch a week later than the chickens) silkie eggs, barred rock, RIR, some mixes, and some buff orfingtons. I'm not yet sure how many of each. The people I am getting them will be collecting eggs for a week for me.
