World Egg Day Hatchalong!(October 12, 2012 is World Egg Day!)

Yah, we gotta get our pictures in everyone! Make it a real competition and have some fun! I've been so busy trying to get my coop up, ugh! And it's gotten so darn hot again :( I actually fainted, so I'm now in the house again, LOL. Hope it cools off this afternoon and that I feel better 'cause I really can't take a break, the hens are growing and these eggs will be joining them

Wow, we have already had our first frost! I still have to clean ours out before winter and then dread the spring cleaning that is sure to eventually come.

And out of curiousity, how does the voting work?

Really? We have 100 degrees today and it's supposed to be 103 tomorrow! Makes me so sick! Ugh!

On the other hand, we're in the final stretch and winter time is usually nice here. If we get a bit of hail, it's so small and fun, and rain is delightful to us, so I'm looking forward to the best time of year for us, winter!!!

The first picture submitted reminds me of a story my husband told me about his college days. Apparently, they were VERY rowdy and the "colleges" at the university (what they called their dormitories) had egg wars in the middle of the night, and one of the boys took a marker and colored all his eggs black, they were impossible to see at night and were called the ninja eggs, LOL. Soon after he graduated, they turned the dorms co-ed and all the fun naturally stopped (girls don't go for such nonsense, LOL)

hahaha, thats just great!

How time flies! My first set of eggs will be going into lockdown tomorrow O.O Since I am doing a staggered hatch, and did not get the second incubator like I was planning to do, I was wondering if not turning the other eggs for the two or three days it takes to hatch the older ones will be detrimental at all? I sure hope not. I will continue turning them until I get my first external pip, so it might not be too long actually. This is going to be nerve-wracking LOL!

BUT! I should have new babies soon! They are due to hatch out early in the morning on Friday, so I'm keeping a close eye on them now.

Ok, I am going to go get a second incubator today, so disregard my question...actually, it would be nice to get opinions on this just in case it would ever be something anyone would have to do. I personally, after reading a bit, am too "chicken" to try to do it all in one 'bator :D
