Keep opening the incubator to turn them twice a day. Thats what I just did for my staggered hatch last week, I was opening the incubator even with the external pips and every single egg hatched and none ended up shrinked wrap. I find turning too important after my one hatch. Last year, I got sick and didn't turn for about 3-4 days. All 5 hatched, but one chick hatched with only one leg (the other just wasn't there), and another appeared to have a deformed head. They both past away. I was really hopeful for the one with one leg, I made it a little peg and it was able to get around, but one day it fell in the water dish and with only one leg, couldn't get out. That was probably the only chick I had ever cried about, I tried to revive him even through I knew it was imposible, he would have been a partridge cochin rooster. So anyways, I haven't had any other deformaties ever and I hatch a lot of chicks, so I assume it was from the lack of turning.
I was thinking, too...since these are Serama, I am not going to be raising the humidity up to 70% anyway. I think my last failed hatch was due to raising it too much at lockdown. I'll go with 60% or so, which hopefully will be safe for everyone. Plan A is the second bator, Plan B will be to hatch with 60% humidity and to go ahead and quickly turn the newer eggs as usual
'Course anything could happen... oh geepers! Gotta stop counting my chickens
