Welcome, Jack. I'm from Union County. We have a few Fannin County folk active on here too. We may end up with a really north north Georgia gang on here.

Welcome to the flock, Jack. Good luck with the new pullets.Just joined. We live in Rabun Co half way up a mountain overlooking Warwoman Creek. Going up to Franklin, NC tomorrow to look at our first group of pullets. I finished the coop and run today. Jack
Dumb forum and it's dumb not informing me of updates. I'm soooo behind. I only got 8 to hatch. I really suck at incubating. A bunch died early on and I think 4 died at the very end before hatching. One broke out of the shell and busted a vein on the belly button and bled out. I tried to stop the bleeding, but it wouldn't stop. So, pretty depressing. The 8 that hatched are pretty cute. Unluckily, the three cream legbars are all males.Welcome, Jen! Whereabouts are you? I am in Union County, near the NC border. Tell us about your flock.
Rocky, Mylied--how are your hatches?
No land amount. They just test your chickens. Don't seem to care how you keep them.Hi everyone! Now that spring has sprung the rest of the birds I have want to be broody. In order to maintain a small flock of silkies of good quality how do you tell the.keepers from the pets at chick stage or do you just have to let silkies grow out? I need a good source of advertising' to sell the pet quality chicks here in So. GA. Guess I also need to get NPIP certified. Does NPIP have a certain land amount for chickens? Thanks for your help.
That's good. I will start getting the ground.work done.Whatever that is. Don't even know where to start. I suposss the State Agraculture Department. No land amount. They just test your chickens. Don't seem to care how you keep them.
No groundwork either. Just call and set up an appointment. They come and prick your birds. Then you pay for the testing and sign some paperwork. They then send your results, another paper to sign, and your certificate. That's good. I will start getting the ground.work done.Whatever that is. Don't even know where to start.
