Good example of showing how a coop can be built repurposing unneeded materials. This needs a bit more explanation of how it was built and what size it is.
Unfinished and abandoned article.

It's a cute little coop and run, but if someone were wanting to build this, instructions and materials list would be helpful. Also, a photo of the interior would help too.

I like it so far! Would love to see it finished and what the inside looks like. How do the chickens like it?

Ty, it's pretty much done just a few little things to paint. I uploaded a photo with the rear door open that shows some of the inside. The bump outs on the sides open and one is for nesting boxes, the other just to keep it symmetrical and give the chickens a few more square feet. They seem to like the run and only go in the coop at dusk. If they rest during the day they hide under the coop.

Wow, so informative. Great article!

If you could just put a couple of pictures of your own chicken with a funny look on its face or something that would add to this. It's great though!

I hear of fisher cats from time to time but never really knew what they were. This is very informative, including how to prevent them from getting our chickens.

Very informative and enjoyable to read! The pictures are not only helpful but also very beautiful.

I keep a list of resources to share with those I see need help. I'm adding this article to it as I don't have one for integration. Nice job!

Very attractive setup! I think more photos to go with what you're explaining would help. Also, as others have said, it would be nice to see the interior.
This isn't really about building a coop as there's no coop here to see. It is entertaining to some extent with a few helpful tips about what not to do.

Nice job! It's very neat and gives me an idea for a temp pen or growout pen as the size is about perfect for one. This is also way stronger than other hoop coops I've seen.

This was a nice read explaining and showing how you evolved into what you now have. So many great ideas and the reasoning behind them. Great pictures too! Nice job!

Just a note that if you cut the tails off the zip ties, it would look a lot nicer, but that's just aesthetics. :)

First I'd change the title so folks who were going to make a DYI Incubator could search and find it better. Second, there's no materials list nor explanation of how to build this. I saw a comment when I was done reading to check the comments for answers to those questions, but that should be in the article section.

Your title is deceiving, as you're very thorough in covering many aspects of raising silkies besides the comprehensive information about their eggs. I've raised solely silkies for many years and this was a joy to read as I could nod my head to it all. :highfive:
Very informative with good ideas. Laid out very nicely, with great illustrations and pictures. Good links to other resources, too!

This is good but very basic information. Helpful, but just a little bit more guidance I would need should I happen to suddenly have ducklings here without warning. Pictures would be helpful!
