    ive had chicks so that. i always thought it was swollen from the poo being stuck. i soaked in warm water, kept it clean, and rubbed in just a *TINY* bit of neosporen, too much will make debris stick to their bum again, so very very little rubbed in. could you maybe add a pic? the can prolapse...

    just my thoughts...which could be wrong.....but....her combs is also affected for one. Could be abscesses? i wouldn't think antibiotics and isolation would be a bad idea. Or maybe avian pox? Hows the rest of the flock? Hows her eating? How old? Egg production? Poo? ect ect? Any more info...

    Also i noticed "bad breath" in the most ill hen....what ever this was, WAS NOT slow onset, but progressed rapidly over 24 hours..So maybe not CRD?

    Just a thought....How do you guys travel with your birds? I have 1 small crate, 1 medium (could hold a few birds), and a wire cage ( for rabbits, use it for chicks). I have to travel with mine in the back of a trail blazer so i need to keep it clean. I guess lots of newspaper? any helpful tips...

    Thanks, I thought so as well. So Im guessing calico is just an off color? Either way I like it...its kinda unique. Im having to rehome him though.....we though he was a hen.....just a late bloomer.
