Too funny. I also live in a small town. (about 4,500) Everyone is related to everyone else. Now my son is seriously :barniedateing a girl that is REALLY related to everyone. If they get married, we will be related to the whole darn town.
Hey, I am 40 minutes from Portland. Our chickies don't seem to mind the rain as long as they have places to get undercover. They love hunting for worms. Mine free range from morning til night. Spoiled girls they are.
I am pretty new to this as well but from what I have read and done myself, I have kept all birds apart compeletly until they are all about the same size. I was afraid the little girls would get hurt by the big girls. then the food was not a problem because they were seperate.
I have many pet peeves but here are a few:
Cracking knuckles in public or at home. I hate the sound. It drives me crazy!!!!!!!
The passing gas thing. Keep your gas to yourself!!!!
Scratching private parts. I hate to see someone digging into their private areas in public or at home for that...
Not sure if this has been asked but searched and could not find the answer. What state has the most members? Do you have a list from most to least? Was thinking where the most chicken folks live.
Practice a mock interveiw with someone. I always do this with my kids. I play the Boss. After you role play a few times, the answers that you have in your head like the what are your weaknesses one, will come easily. It won't appear that you are hunting for words.
Also, don't over talk. Answer...

Why is it that the two places the health professionals want to get chatty are the dentist and the ob/gyn? Everyone is staring at your girlie business and they ask how your vacation was?
This winter was our first with our girls. We had an unusual amont of snow and I fed the girls warm cooked natural oats every day. They loved it. I felt bad that they were out in the cold unheated coop, so the oats were a winner.

It's so true! I'm also 5'4" (popular height?) and will swing from 122-126 lb. I have one of those computerized scales that not only tells you pounds, but also ounces! Never get one of those...
