Yes, that crazy bird is a Silkie/frizzle. I also have a Columbian Wyandotte frizzle. Both Roos, dang it. Of course, I got zero frizzle hens out of the hatch.

That's awesome! Thank you for fostering. It can get crazy but it's a lot of fun. There's so many kids out there that need a loving home.

I have the broody crew. I have eight hens..Three are Polish and the rest are assorted bantams. Had one go broody a month ago and let her hatch some eggs. Now, I have a bantam that is broody and a POLISH that is broody! She's like Jurassic chicken. I didn't think my Polish would be going broody...

Thanks. I definitely don't want to do it but it is interesting. I've had some roosters that I really like but I live in Wichita so I couldn't keep them. Would be kind of cool to have this done to some in the future if available.

I'm super excited and nervous. I gave my broody frizzle some eggs to sit on. I've never tried this before. I'm thinking they'll hatch late next week. Hopefully, the chicks are healthy and my hen is a good mother.

It's a sad day here. After having chickens for just over a year, we lost our first one this morning. She was laying dead in the coop. Don't know what happened. I did notice she was hanging out away from the rest of the girls yesterday but that was it. We only have six backyard hens that all have...

Danz, I don't want flyers either! I live in the city limits. I thought they were pretty chill birds. If they turn out hyper & flighty, they may not work out here. I have bantam Cochins now & they're super cool.
