Here is my two cents.
Step 1, Fill a large pot with water until 2 inches from the top.
Step 2, Set pot on stove burner.
Step 3, Turn dial half way from "Off" to "High".
Step 4, Cull and dress chicken.
By the time you get done, the water should be all nice and boiled.
Congrats! You've just...
All my dogs eat poop. My hubby was very grossed out by it at first, but now, he has resigned himself to it. I look on the bright side, at least my porch is always safe to walk on, even when the girls are out.

Thats the exact same reason my Vet gave me! She also said it was fine, as...
My chickies like to flop over on their side from time to time. Especially to sun bath. I have one who from time to time even tries to flop over on her side and lounge up on the roost. Silly girl. As long as she is still healthy and normal otherwise she should be fine. I remember the first time I...

I have to agree totally with you. I'm currently working on a bunny playground to put in our minibarn, until I can get the run built. I got some pallets to start building it with, but hubby wants me to just make it 6x6x4 since he says the rabbits will mostly use it. The chicks run...
Ok maybe if I post a pic to tempt you to help? Nina is the barred rock pullet from the barred rock pullet bin. Professor is the mystery rooster from the rooster pen. So are they really?
Lets see if I can figure the pic posting thing out.
Just brought home. Professor is next to the Rhoda (RIR)...
Congrats! My hubby and I converted our old wooden shed for our coop.
I'm no real sure what your supposed to do, but for our little ones I put the baby coop about 3 feet high, although I also built a little stairs out of bricks, cuz one chickie just couldn't master the jumping and flapping at...
Ok, So we got our girls the same week from the local feed store. Here is the run down I put up a while back on another forum topic.

Chicken hasn't been near $1.29lb here in a while. I wish it was that cheap.
^ Ditto. Chicken here is up to $1.75xlbs. We can only afford to stock up when we can get the bags of legs 10lbs for $7 from a local Spanish market, but it went up to $8.50 last week
Dont even mention pork or...
Here in Az they are $2.00 a piece atm. And plywood is up to over $8. At Lowes website, first put in your zip code, then go to Building Supplies, Lumber, Dimensional Lumber & Studs and you can see all the prices. I'm going with re-purposed pallets and any other scrap wood I can find things are...

I have to agree with that. I have no knowledge of coal or its properties, but I believe that a piece or two might not hurt an adult or juvenile. Heck we had a chicken with a tummy upset. (Mild diarrhea and gagging? Looks like a yawn, but they gulp, figured it was crop upset.) Anyway she...

Nope. They are super diggers. They live in communities and dig tunnels/burrows that will go below the frost line & deeper.
Just a quick link pointing to rabbit colony raising Here . I'm taking ideas from here and there to put to work in our chicken/bunny Run (going to be small now, my...
I've kept rabbits for years. Cage kept, free range in run, outdoors, indoors (Doggy door trained and everything) This is my first year keeping chickens tho. However I'm raising em together.
Rabbits are not carnivorous and will not eat chickens. (Amazingly I see that crap online everywhere )...
It sounds like your having a really hard time, So here !
Ive never incubated, so I'm no help other than moral.
First from what I see around here, even long time incubators have trouble, just the fact your willing to try this hard for your students is amazing! Wish there were more teachers like...
Ah Thanks LareePQG. And Thanks Rufus I know better than that.
I was worried for a second there, That maybe I missed a by law or something. So far I'm in complete compliance, even getting my neighbors to sign permission over the 80' thing. I even got brave and sent a letter to Vice Mayor...
Oh crap I forgot to ask. Did you get a chance to look at her eyeball? This might seem mean, but its better to do it now than wait and cause even more fresh pain later. If you can, open her eye just a bit with a good light and look around. You'll be able to see scratches, punctures, or any kind...
Oh wow what a horrible thing to have happen.
Not sure if this will help, but back when I was a kid my grandpa once had a goat and a goose get in a fight. The Goat lost her eye and the Gander lost most of his upper beak. Talk about traumatic! We had to take care of them both in the same bedroom...
