My chickens have found a great new home! Woot! Good Morning! Is anyone interested in owning a beautiful pair of English Lavender Orpingtons? I am having to rehome them due to my health. I'm moving to a much smaller place and the goats, horse and chickens all have to go, sadly. The rooster and...

What's everyone doing for their chickens and livestock near the fire in Estacada? I'm in Oregon City and the air quality is terrible. My barn is being demolished and rebuilt right now, so I don't have anywhere to put my goats and horse indoors. I can bring my pair of Lavender Orpingtons inside...

I buy Scratch and Peck feed, made in WA, for my flock. It's spendy, but I'm starting to ferment it and it goes a lot longer that way. I usually buy at Portland Homestead Supply. I'm finally in a rental house! (I've been asking y'all for help finding a rental for a couple of months.) I've got...

I use straw. Just keep adding layers when they trample it into muck.

I'm still looking for a small house to rent with a little bit of land, anything from a half acre up to a few acres. Oregon City, Damascus, Boring, West Linn, Redland, Estacada areas are where I'm looking and up to about $1600/mo. Craigslist is helpful, but I know you guys have lots of farm...

I've finally made it back to Oregon from wintering in Texas and I'm still looking for a new place to live. I need to rent for several months to a year while I work on getting a mortgage loan together. Anyone know of a rental which would allow pets and maybe has pasture with it for my horse in...

Hello, Oregon peeps! I'll be returning to the Damascus area (SE suburb of Portland) in April and will need housing for me, my dogs and horse. I plan to rent for up to a year while I look for a home to buy. I have a very livable RV, but need pasture for my horse and a barn, shop or garage for my...

Does anyone near the greater Portland area have a small shed or kid's outdoor playhouse they need to sell that I could make into a miniature goat house? I've got two mini Nubians coming the week after Mother's Day and no where to lock them up at night! I'd like something that's portable for now...

It was 4 inches think on my horse tank yesterday. My soon-to-be-ex husband would never allow me to buy a tank heater because he thought it wasn't worth the expense. Since he left on Friday, that was the first thing I went to buy at the feed store. It's lovely to have a thawed out tank this...

My gosh, it's cold this morning. 18 degrees at my house in Damascus! Everything covered in frost. My girls are sure happy for their heat lamp. I'm happy for the heated water thingy so I don't have to break ice every morning. Think I'll make them some oatmeal this morning for breakfast.

Anyone near Portland have a standard sized Polish adult hen they need to rehome? Don't care what color or age. Just want one for my flock. Thanks.

Cloverleaf (or anyone else who knows), at the Stevenson show, are there many pet quality chickens and ducks for sale? I notice they have an entire barn dedicated to sale birds. I'm thinking of going on Saturday morning. Would that be a good time to see a good selection of birds in your opinion?

Posting here, as well as, the swap thread. I'm looking for a couple or three or four adult hens to go in with my current four year-old girls (Miss Americauna; LaShequa the Jersey Giant; the Misses Janie and Clara Orpington) to liven up the coop a bit. I'd like to find RIR, Barred Rock and/or...

Ready to add ducks to my collection. Anyone have any adults to rehome (free or not)? I'm in Damascus with a beautiful chicken coop and run which has enough room to accomodate a couple of ducks and whatever they would need. Thanks! Carol

Hi All, Haven't been around for a while, but with the sun peeking out today I'm thinking of Spring! I'm dying to have a couple of mature ducks. Anyone have layers that are past their prime, but still need a good home? I can't make it to the swap, but I'd be willing to pick them up from...

Yay Chicks! : Lucky Lake Oswego. I believe you have the only Avian vet around! I think Sunnyside Veterinary Hospital in Happy Valley (Portland suburb) does chickens, too. Seems like a competent vet, but I've never taken a chicken to him.

Beckie, Can you tell me generally where you live? You work in Vancouver apparently, but do you also live there? I'd die to trade for massages, but I'm in Damascus...near Boring. Carol

juniperyogi ~ So sorry for your loss. You can always come here for people who understand how hard it is to lose a chicken. Hope your family heals soon.
