Is it common for a hen to go go broody this late in the year? I went out to the coop to shut it for the night and colect the rest of my eggs and I see one of my hens flattened out on the eggs in the nesting box. I didn't mess with her because she is kind of skittish and I didn't want her to jump...
Look at what I just found. She had been using a nesting box but I guess it wasn't good enough. She had laied these over the last few days. Are they ok to eat still?
I didn't hear anything. Unfortunately my coop is kinda far from the house. He was in the coop by himself and the rest were all together in the run. I didn't see any tracks in the dirt outside of the coop. I just hope that he isn't hurt bad. I realy want to keep him around. He is such a beautiful...
I let my chickens out of the coop this morning and all were fine. Went out a little bit ago and one of my roosters is limping around and missing feathers on his neck.do you think he is getting picked on? I am planning on thinning the flock but I really like this rooster.
This is most of my chickens. I have a little bit of a variety in my flock. If you can identify any of what I have that would be great. Thanks for any help.
hey everyone. It has been a couple weeks sense I posted anything. The chickens are about 11 weeks old now. I still don't know what this girl is. She is by far the friendliest of the flock. Every day she Flys into my hand and demands to be pet. So much fun.
Hey everyone. I have one rooster that seems to hop everywhere he goes. I am a little concerned but other than that he acts just fine. He even tried to crow a little this morning. Any help would be great.
yes she does have feathers all the way down her legs. She is one of my favorites. The black one has a few feathers on its legs also. I also noticed that it's features have a blue sheen to them if that helps also.
