I would... I wouldn’t cake it on just a little. A little goes a long way with the ointment.

You need a PFM to change it. It’s a feature PFM members get... Ask a moderator to change it. I’m sure they won’t mind.

I’d make sure the membrane is moist and just keep an eye on it. Do you have any pics of it? And what day are they on?

I believe it’s bacteria. This experiment should be done with specific things that I believe us consumers cannot buy.

What about #2? Did you leave it in there without sanitizing?

When you have bacteria in an incubator, you need to remove it instantly and sanitize the bator. You can’t leave it and let it fester for days especially with open eggs. It’ll be a breeding ground for more. I’m sorry you experienced another loss. Hopefully the others hatch great :hugs

Why are you doing that now? They usually do not internally pip until day 19 or 20. Id wait and there would be less veins to worry about.

I’ve never seen veins attached to the air cell membrane. Usually all the veins are on the membrane that is around the chick.

You pull off the air cell membrane and leave the other membrane

Looks to me like it’s internally pipped. I would wait a bit until the veins recede

Maybe it’s your qtip brand. I’ve never had that issues. I usually open at the air cell though. Use your finger

Why are you opening at the pointy end? I would’ve opened at the air cell. That’s where they usually pip

With a qtip. I put a squirt on the qtip not a ton and rub it on the membrane
