Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

I'm sorry but I won't have any available for a while. Maybe later next year. I'll keep my ears open though :) if you ever hatch shipping eggs, TLSranch has great hatch rates!

Trisha, I am not so sorry to inform you that your mailbox may be filling up ;) you remember those hatching eggs you sent last Spring? Well one hatched and grew into this beautiful girl, "Amanda", who my son James showed Saturday. They won RV and RB in the Junior Show, and Amanda was the first...

Mine don't lay for a couple of months this time of year, but I don't use lights either. The ones who just started to lay will probably continue for a while. Maybe someone with more experience can chime in?

Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

Question for the show folks! If you had a 4 lbs pullet with great markings versus a 4 lbs 12 oz pullet with poorer markings (lacing is clear but the black is standing out more than the brown, making her look predominantly black), which will perform better in show? I signed up for 2 pullets to...

Shafting is a different color "shaft", line, down the center of each feather (usually lighter than the web of the feather).

Oh, ok! She's probably a much better bird than it appears. Pictures are hard to examine and harder to take sometimes! Maybe if you could get one of her standing? If you're looking for feedback on type, etc? :D

Pozees, do you have any pics? At 4 months the boys should be getting bigger than the girls! That's good. Best wishes, and welcome to another beautiful breed!

Barnevelder breeders lets work together and improve the breed

I'm guessing that we'd just need to start one :) but I sent off a note to the secretary of the APA just to check. Also, the cream legbar group is kind of starting a club right now. Other than the standards, which could one day be useful in bring new color combinations to APA, their lead could...

Thank you so much Aya. Someone told me to find the American Club and that it would be there, but there is no American Barnevelder Club right now, lol.
