Well, I am way behind, AGAIN. I am going to attempt to finish reading all the new posts, but thought I would post my set numbers before I forget. Total set: 46

I know you are mad and I am very sorry about your egg. It could happen to anyone - I have done it myself. Just remember, you can get more Barred Rock eggs, but your son is not replaceable.
I am sure the first 8 hours of lockdown at 28% won't hurt them. I often don't put my eggs in lockdown until day 19 or even 20, depending on development, and don't get curled/crooked toes. I do dry incubation, so the humidity is usually high 20's to low 30's until lockdown.
You mean to say you only put 24 eggs in each of your Octo 20's? Am I the only one who plays the Egg Jigsaw Puzzle Game to see if I can fit just one more egg into the basket??? I have to hand turn the incubators because they are too heavy for the auto-turners and it may break the motor arm...
You probably want to stay on good terms with your neighbors, but keep this in mind if their is a next time. They are liable for replacement cost of the grown birds, including shipping if needed, not just the cost for eggs that may or may not hatch. Let them know just what that cost might be next...
I like to get shipped eggs into the incubator as soon as possible after a rest period - 8-12 hours usually. But I know many people who will rest them for up to a week before setting them, especially if the aircells are bad. Personally, if you want to wait for the HAL, I would set them on Thurs...
I am way behind AGAIN and have to spend some time catching up. But before I do, I thought I would post a link to the egg auctions that I just put up, as promised. You know, in case there might be one or two people on this thread that may need some hatching eggs next week, for some...
If you start bidding at the beginning of an auction, put in a bid close to your max bid. That way, as others bid it up in small increments, they are continually outbid and may get discouraged and decide to wait for the next auction. If they do reach your bid, don't bid again until very end to...
I have 2 Brinsea Octo 20 Adv EX, a homemade coolerbator that I am using as a hatcher, and I just picked up a used Hovabator last weekend that I plan to try out for the HAL (because the Brinseas are already full :hide  )
