How are you sexing these, by head spots or by down color? I only ask because looking at the cross you used to make them Im not sure I see how you would sex them either way.

Might just be me, but your "rooster" looks like a pullet to me. I have a hen that looked very similar to yours as a chick.

That is a beautiful egg you have there! I love the blue and green. My daughter found an egg like this a few days ago but it was a brown egg.

EEs are mutts and could be a mix of any 2 or more breeds as long as one parent carries the colored egg gene. There would be know way to get this variety of chicken approved as a recognized breed. I have 6 EEs and they were all created using very different breeds.

Basically yes but for selling purposes and such they are separated into their own category. EEs are a purposeful cross to achieve blue and green eggs, the reason they are said to lay any color is because on occasion they will lay white or brown if they don't get the colored gene from one of the...

Agreed that looks like a decent sized first egg.

I think they mean to say wilid type color pattern, its a typical pattern that EEs come in even though they are mixes a lot of EEs still look very similar. This is wild type, not partridge And by body types being all over the place I think they mean that there is no standard that each EE...

Because you crossed an EE to an EE I would call the chicks EEs.

An Easter Egger is an Easter egger. They are not pure, they are all mixes of something whether its 2 breeds to make the cross or 3 or 4, typical any cross breed that lays a colored egg is dubbed an EE. Im not sure at what point we stop calling them and EE. I know I have one pullet that lays...

This white one looks to be a rooster This one I cant decide, I want to say rooster but I think its too early to tell. All the other pics you posted so far look like pullets to me. Another 2 weeks and you should know for sure. Definitely post more pics as they grow.

congrats on the blue egg today! I hear ya with no eggs and not wanting to buy store eggs. Yesterday I had 14 eggs(saved up over about a 5day span) and I have no idea what happened but we had a bad egg day. My DD dropped the carton with 2 eggs in it, not a big deal really and then someone...

It is. But I also read that when eggs are stored pointy end up it doesn't stay fresh as long because over time a second air pocket will start to form in the pointy tip. This is a quote I found from someone else If you're going to eat them right away, then no difference. But the longer...

I love your eggs. Great color! Oh and I for some reason always feel the need to point this out lol your storing your eggs upside down. Eggs are best stored pointy side down.

That is very interesting info. I love olive eggs, and the 2 different colors inside and out are great!

I agree with both of these. They both look like pullets to me. The first one has the classic pattern for girls EEs. The second one looks like a girl though her coloring is not typical for a girl. She looks as though she has some darker red coming in on her shoulders(which is typical for a boy)...
