Thank you folks for your prayers-we are reeling. We are leaving at 4 am for Tennessee and I can't sleep... Please continue to pray as the details have come out and the accident was apparently horrific. I don't normally air my personal business on a forum, but I am at a loss...

OK, thanks for asking. My birds take up most of my time anymore. I have thinned my flock down and am concentrating on a couple of breeds. Trying to decide whether or not to try to show in November. Garden here is already done, so no more work there. Trying to stay cool is a full time job...

Hey Woody! Long time no see! OK, here is how you can get your password-log out then try to log back in-under where you type in your name it will ask if you have forgotten your password. It will probably either email it to you or let you change it. Hope you have been doing well, we've missed...

Sounds like a cutworm USSC-some say wrapping foil around the base of your plants will keep them off. We usually just go out after dark with a flashlight and kill the little buggers-they are REALLY destructive. You could also try some Sevin dust-I think it works on cutworm-works on stinkbugs...

Quote: OK that is one of the vilest things I have EVER seen-any clue what kind of snake that evil thing is? I just want to make sure I NEVER get anywhere near where they live. Hey Sally bet you wouldn't try to put that one in the relocation program!

Afternoon everyone! Hope this fine(hot) day finds you all doing well! Opa your new signature line cracked me up! That is hilarious! We have thinned our flock down to about 1/2 the size it was in the last few weeks-we're in the process of building breeder/grow out pens. We've decided to...

Morning all-it has been absolutely pouring here this morning so I, of course don't expect my NPIP inspection today, right? Oh but no, he IS coming in about an hour or so. Now my run is flooded and on top of that, a roll of fence fell over and turned the water spicket on at some point so it's...

Morning everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day-very, very quiet back here in my neighborhood-I think due to the poor economy people just decided no fireworks this year-which is a whole lot easier on my sissy labrador. NotAFarm: Thanks for asking-the inspector called me on...

OK, I'm flipping out! The guy from the Texas Department of Agriculture is coming to inspect and test my birds on Friday! Talk me down somebody...just kidding, but I really am kinda panicking. My birds are healthy and my coop and run are fine, but still-very big deal for me to get my NPIP...

Quote: Good morning, MamaG-I'm so sorry you are having to go through the pain of this huge loss. I understand what you are going through-when I lost my dad 3 years ago, I felt like the world had stopped turning and I could not, for the life of me, figure out how the rest of the world was...

Hey Sally! I just wanted to say, so you don't feel so bad, that I now own 11 roosters and about 30 hens. There, makes your 5 or so look like small potatoes. Also, out of my 3 call ducks that hatched-2 were drakes. Just didn't want you to feel like the Lone Ranger.

Howdy everyone! Hope you are all doing well. Opa sounds like there has been some pretty rough weather up in your neck of the woods lately. Glad you are all faring OK up there. Sally sounds like your weather is the same as mine-almost too hot and humid to breathe. Sadly, just because it's hot...

Howdy everyone! Sounds like you are all as busy as we have been. It has been really hot and humid here lately-yesterday or the day before, I think our heat index was like 106-whew! My poor birds are just laying up in the shade for the biggest part of the day-I feel so sorry for them. MamaG I...

Hi everyone! Hope you are all well. Spring(or as we call it here, early summer) has been SO busy for us. I spend hours every day taking care of animals, cleaning brooders, feeding, taking the ducklings for 3 swims a day, whew. That is just animal care, not to mention garden stuff and all of...
