I wouldn't cull for color before they start getting their adult plumage... You can see here how different the juvenile feathers are from the new adult feathers .

The slow feathering gene is required for true barring. Without it you just get cuckoo barring...

I hatched 110 out of 127 eggs this week, all breeds and varieties combined. I felt a wave panic for a moment when I opened the hatcher. Gonna have to pull back on the reins if this continues. :th

That picture was taken last summer. His tail is more filled out now. Both him and the top bird are two of my breeders for this year.

I agree. Actually I don't own him anymore. I didn't like his red color either. It was hot when I took this picture so I think that's why his wings are drooping.

As most of us know, the proper BLRW color and pattern is hard to achieve. This girl has near perfect type IMO but the colors are way off. Nice head and comb as well. I had to force myself to not use her in the breeding pens. Lacing starts out almost black on the chest and fades to light blue on...

Thanks! He is from my line. I will put him over some of the pullets I got from Foley. I'll post some pics of them later. Chicks only for now. I'll have to start early next year so I will need all the eggs they will give me. Will PM all when I have the price list set...

The ones that develop slower tend to be the better birds when they mature. So be patient with him...
