«We Could Be Legends»

Virio felt someone around them, and immediately took a step back, ready for a fight, only to realize it was a girl from class. He relaxed, allowing Brisa to do the talking, as he might be an unwanted sight for some, and one not expected. He simply gave her a nod of acknowledgement, not wanting to do more without Brisa intervening, taking the opportunity to put his hair in a messy bun, in case there was combat to come. There was no need to have loose strands of hair bouncing around in his hair if they got in a fight, and he knew he was valuable as a fighter. And he was determined not to let anyone die. Dancing with Brisa was a rather good catalyst in said determination, whether he cared to admit it or not.

Jessi looked at Virio. "Aren't you the weird dude that killed this guy?" She asked, nudging the body with her foot.

Camilla strode to the middle of the Davis's house's living room, giving several obnoxiously loud claps of her hands to get the others' attention. "We're going to the park to meet up with Brisa and Jessi and Bleddyn. I just got a call from..." Her voice drifted off, wondering how many of them would listen to Alice's orders. "Aunt River and Alice. They've got a plan, but we've got to get the key from the bank." She declared, looking from Lachlan to Finlay, then to Jenna.
She glanced around the house, searching for something. "And are Ash and Connor still asleep?"

Jenna stood up. "Alright. My car has six seats in it. That should be enough seats for everyone." She walked into the kitchen and filled three to-go cups full of coffee.

Ash tenderly ran a trembling finger along her husband’s jawline. His handsome face was still slack with sleep, but grief’s conspicuous red splotches were ever present.
She straightened back up and watched her dangling feet swing to and fro against the bed’s side. Jenna had loaned them a quaint spare room and kept them from having to make the heartrending drive home.
They’d both been up late, exchanging bits and pieces of positive memories - a halfhearted attempt at temporarily remedying the stark sadness. Perhaps loss' early numbness was what had allowed them to experience any fleeting joy. The couple had even managed genuine laughs while one of them relayed a particularly hilarious Fleur incident.
Still, Ash had been frequently awoken by muffled sobs even after she’d drifted off.
Losing two beloved siblings at once was going to be a major mental detriment during the tumultuous days to come, and Ash knew it.

And if this group doesn’t get their element of destruction when they want it, guarantee it’s not going to end with my sister and brother.

That heavy thought unwillingly had her referencing back to her own teenage perilous misadventures. Compared to this, Firestein’s destruction and delusions seemed childish almost.
This uprising didn’t just want inhumans conveniently out of society- they wanted them gone.
Wonder who’s going to make it to next week.
Wonder if my daughter’s going to have a home or her parents come next weekend.

Swallowing a fresh sob, she turned back to the man sleeping beside her and laid a gentle hand on his stubble-roughened cheek.
If I lose you…

“Hey.” Her voice broke even before she got the whispered greeting out.
Connor’s heavy lids peeled back to reveal those brilliant blue orbs. Bloodshot as the whites of his eyes were, still the azure irises remained as jolting as ever.
“Last night...” He trailed off helplessly and began to work his way out of the layers of sheets. He sat up with a shuddering sigh that rattled the bed frame.

“Yeah,” Ash confirmed aloud for the both of them. “It really happened.”

"Peter!" Indigo screamy-hissed. "I brought a van, because everyone was supposed to come, remember? Lastless, help me bring these kids to the van."

"Ok..." Sherri wasn't sure how she felt about dragging her classmates into a van.

She put her arms into Bleddyn's arm pits. "You can get up any time..." she said. "And do what you want."

Indigo didn't look that strong, but her stature gave her an advantage, and she could fireman carry pretty easily.

Indigo carried Peter to the van fairly easily, while Sherri was still struggling with Bleddyn.

Indigo pulled something out of the compartment in front of the passenger seat, a Bluetooth headset, but a lot fancier. She locked it onto her head, and it glowed as it turned on.

"Call Frosty," she muttered.

The phone began to ring on Frosty's end, an obnoxious rooster crow.

Her voice came on before he should pick up, because the only time he wouldn't be able to hear her was unless his entire foot was removed. Sometimes, he thought unfortunately, since Indigo had heard his grumblings about this many times.

"Frosty, I'm at the school in the white van number 2 with three kids. Well one unconscious kid and one pathetic one trying to drag another to the van. What do you think I should do next? I can make it there fast, you know how I drive. I was hoping the others would get here."
"Hands off," Bleddyn growled shortly, ripping herself free from the smaller redhead’s grasp. “I can walk, ever how contrary to popular belief."

Simmering with indignation at both being caught unawares and then being herded along like some incompetent orphan, she strode the rest of the distance with purpose.

She slunk into the van and plopped herself down into the farthest possible seat from the driver.
Having noted the innovational interior of the vehicle with approval, she crossed her legs and peered up to the distant front seats.
Though she'd never admit it, the wail of the approaching fire engines and inevitable following investigations had her grateful for Indigo's timely appearance.
“So, since it appears we’re trusting you now, what’s the plan, Enchantress?”

"Uh-right, coming." Toby replied, jogging into the car. He tossed the gun he was holding into the backseat and shoved the keys into the ignition. "You're gonna have to give me directions, I have no idea where I'm going."
The Pure van rumbled to a start. Frosty started to give Toby directions before they had even gotten onto the road. Then, his device suddenly came to life. "Indigo?" Frosty asked, for once not using her last name. After hearing her explain the situation, he said, "I'm going to the Multitude base. Something's happened. It could be dangerous. The fewer people, the better." He paused, trying to collect his thoughts. "You need to get the Key. The Pure are getting desperate. I think that the house that the kids are mostly at is being watched. Whatever you do, be careful." The late part was said as a warning. He didn't want whatever happened to the rest of the Multitude to happen to Indigo.
With a messy snort, Bleddyn forced her illogical hysterics to a halt.
Hey.
Even though you're never gonna be able to take your biology test, not everyone's gone just yet.

That somehow realized, she was hammered with more than enough determination to come back and partake in present life.
Even still, it took her a while to get her vision clear and refocused enough to realize what she was seeing. She thrust angry fists into her runny eyes, cramming the illegal tears back from whence they came.
"What...on earth..." she muttered diffidently, dropping to her knees beside the fallen Peter. He was going to get it for having seen her that low- but in order to right that misconduct, first they had to overcome the obstacle of his apparent unconsciousness. Dude...seriously...why...I don't get it...he could've just asked...
"It's not like I'm unhealthily obsessed with taking tests or something, geeze."

After that declaration of defiance, Bleddyn experimentally poked his forehead and immediately jerked her hand back.
"Peter!" Indigo screamyhissed. "I brought a van, because everyone was supposed to come, remember? Lastless, help me bring these kids to the van."

(I'm going to assume he's unconscious.)

Wolfram let out a shuddering sigh, forcing himself to hold back his sobs. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, staring at it for a heartbeat, turning it on. Just send one text....keep her safe, right? That's all...it's not because you're lonely and desperate and depressed or something, not at all.
He pulled up Lily's contact, thumbs nimbly flying over the screen in a matter of seconds.
Lily? Are you there?
.....
Wolfram? Is something wrong?
.....
Be careful, please.
.....
What? What are you talking about?
.....
The person who killed Silver. She out on the hunt. She's killing people. She knows who you are, and she's looking for you.
.....
Wolfram? Are you having a nightmare again? Are you ok? Who's she?
.....
Lily! This is serious. I'm not having a nightmare, I'm fully conscious. Please, Lily, believe me! She'll kill you if she finds you, please be careful.
......
Wolfram. Who is she? What does she want from us?
......
She's.....it's....it's Mapleshade....she wants a poison mom had....
.......
Wolfram?!??!! Where the hell are you?! I'm coming to find you. Where are you?! I want to know what is going on and I want to know now.

Jessi landed in the park with a thud, dropping the body and stumbling forward. She winced. Her heeled boots were not good for landing in. "Hey guys! Sorry it took so long, he was a lot heavier than I'm used to carrying in this form, by at least 100 pounds. I should've eaten him while I had the chance. Where are the others?" She asked.

Virio felt someone around them, and immediately took a step back, ready for a fight, only to realize it was a girl from class. Jessi looked at Virio. "Aren't you the weird dude that killed this guy?" She asked, nudging the body with her foot.
Brisa jumped a little and spun around to face Jessi as she landed, a smile breaking out over her face. “Oh, thank gosh, I was starting to get nervous.” She exclaimed, averting her eyes from the dead man’s body. She listened as Jessi spoke, her face falling at the mention of the others. “I’m not sure. We’ve been waiting for a while and you’re the only one to show up. I want to text them, but I’m worried that the Pure have tapped our phones.” At Jessi’s mention of Virio, she nodded, glancing back at him. “It is. I met him on the way here. He’s become a target by killing that guy, plus he took his phone, so I brought him along.” She explained, gesturing towards the body between them.

Wolfram refused to look at her, pulling the black hood off his sweatshirt over his face. "Lets just go." He snapped, pulling his shoulder away from River. He stood up to his full height, jerking away from her and stalking back to his car, casting one last guilty glance at his fathers broken and bleeding form, before yanking the car door open, and sliding inside without another word.
River groaned as her personal person-to-lean-on jerked away, swaying slightly as she stood alone.
She stumbled after him, hardly casting a glance around before sliding into the passenger seat, leaning her head against the window, one hand on her wound, the other on her forehead.

Toby glanced at Frosty. I cannot believe I'm driving a chicken to a secret base. I must be seriously losing it right now. It's like I'm an Uber driver for chickens. If people start calling me animal boy or anything similar to that, I'm going to scream.

"River...?" Wolfram looked up from his phone, his eyes a dull gray-blue, unlike there normal ice blue ones. "A-are y-you....o-ok?" He asked, his voice barely a whisper.

River blinked, taring her eyes away from the window to look at the younger inhuman. "I'm fine, my body just isn't used to having so many pain receptors go off, then having my body healed so fast, so I have one crazy migraine. But you honestly look worse off than me."
