«We Could Be Legends»

"Cam!" Alice jumped down out of the van and ran over to grab her sister into a tight hug. Everyone looked awful, and there was some kid? That Wolfram brought? "I'm glad you're ok, I know it's weird since you only just found out, but, if you're hurt I can heal you." She said pulling back and putting her hands on her sisters shoulders to look her over.
Camilla gave her sister a tight squeeze, unable to keep from letting a few tears from dripping from her tear ducts. "I'm fine, I'm fine. God, you took forever to wake up. Everything's just... Everything's just chaos, Ali."
Lily rolled onto her knees, pressing herself against the side of Wolfram's car. She looked at the boy, a frown crossing her face. He was so young, his blue-green eyes staring numbly towards the forest. "Hey, sweetheart, you have to come with me, alright? I can't leave you here by yourself."
The little boy looked at her, and nodded slightly, standing. Lily got to her feet, cautiously peering over the hood of the car. The Pure that had been looking for her had vanished. Quickly, she took the boys hand, dragging him with her over to one of the vans, gun clutched tightly in hand.
She wasn't seen, keeping to the shadows where the moon's light wouldn't reach her. She crawled into the back on the van, hauling Alec in with her. "Lachlan?" She hissed in the darkness. She could just barely see him and the red headed girl.
"I saw Wolfram. He told me to find you, he's looking for you. I don't know where he went though."
Lachlan straightened up, picking up his weapons with a wince and stumbled over closer to Lily and Alec. "Alright, I'll... I'mma go find him. Thank you, Lily. Hey, was he hurt?" He paused glancing at the kid, of whom he didn't recognize.
Toby gave her a quick nod. “Yup. I’m fine. Just tired,” he said, subconsciously pulling his arm closer to his chest when she looked at it. “I can’t see Alpha. Is he still in the car?” He repeated, trying to look through the windows of the cars. He couldn’t see in them, due to sitting on the ground.
"Don't worry, he's in there." Finley said, offering a small smile.
Startled Annie stared at him horrified. Was he just exaggerating? Her heart skipped a beat. What exactly had happened while she was sleeping?

"What?" She squeaked, unable to comprehend that what he said could possibly be fact. "Y-you, mean," Her eyes flickered down to the bullet hole that was slowly knitting together on his leg. He was shot. Toby, is hurt somehow, Brisa was stabbed, and burned, and her head was hurt too, Auntie Ash wouldn't answer. What did Finley say? Something about Mapleshade getting the key, and a big fight. Connor? Her face paled, staring at the sticky red all over her hands and Pete's leg. "What happened to Connor?" She asked her voice barely a whisper.
"He--" Finley's voice gave out, and his face flushed. "Uncle Connor's dead." He whispered, his chest tightening as the words left his lips.

Wolfram's gaze fell over the battlefield as he made his way through it, smoke burning his eyes and lungs. He just felt like sleeping, not fighting anymore.
A soft sobbing drew his attention to a small boy sitting over Shadow's body. The child couldn't have been older then six or seven, and looked almost identical to Shadow. "Hey," he said softly, approaching the boy carefully. "Hey, you can't be out here. It's too dangerous."
"You!" The boy shrieked with horror, scrambling in the bloody grass to stand. "You killed my brother!" Tears stained the small, pale face, an accusing finger pointing at Wolfram.
Wolfram held his hands up, shaking his head. "I'm not going to hurt you. I promise. What happened...what happened to your brother was an accident... A huge accident that I regret. Come with me, alright? I'll bring you somewhere safe."
The boy eyed him, his hand lowering. "You aren't going to hurt me?"
"No." Wolfram answered. "What's your name?"
"Alec," the boy answered warily.
"I'm Wolfram. Come with me," Wolfram straightened, beckoning the boy.
"I know who you are," the boy mumbled as he came to Wolfram's side. The way he talked made him sound much older then he actually was. "Everyone in the Pure know's who Silver Nollen's son is."
Wolfram narrowed his eyes, leading the boy over to the cars. He saw Lily, hiding behind his car, gun clutched to her chest. "Lily," he whispered, apparently scaring her as she jumped, looking at him. "Can you watch him?"
Lily glanced at Alec, and gave a nod. "Sure," she murmured, beckoning to the boy to sit down beside her, so he did.
"Thank you," Wolfram nodded, and left. Suddenly, arms hooked underneath his, dragging him to the ground. He let out a sharp yelp, looking up.
"First you kill our leader, and then you take our young?" A rasping voice sounded in his ear, the face undetectable beneath the mask. "Get ready to die for what you've done, inferior."
Wolfram froze, cold metal pressing against his skull. "Apologizes for doing what is right," he sneered, glaring at the masked face. He struggled against the assaulting grip to no avail; the grasp was far too strong. He heard a sharp click, and his eyes snapped shut. And this is how I end. Just make it quick...
Out of nowhere, an angry black shape appeared, swooping and grabbing the gun out of the hand of the Pure, then flapping its wings in their face. The crow soared back into the sky, dodging bullets and cawing madly. He made crazy loops and dives, trying to distract the Pure. C'mon, kid! Run! He screeched, knowing that Wolfram wouldn't understand but hoping he would figure it out. A bullet whizzed through his tail feathers, making him veer off to the side. He dropped the gun on some unfortunate Pure's head.

Wolfram looked up sharply as the cold metal of the gun was yanked away from his head by a massive crow. He was suddenly dragged to his feet, held by his wrists by the Pure man. Thank you!
Silently, he thanked the crow that had saved his life, pulling agains the Pure's grip. He stared at the face where he thought the eyes may be when he was forced to the ground, too exhausted to even fight against it. Maybe I won't be so lucky after all. If I can just shift one more time...

"Wolfram!" River yelped, having fell behind him once he had collected the kid, due to her limp. She aimed her gun, and pulled the trigger, but her ears were met with a rather annoying sound-- A simple click. The cartridge was empty. Out of bullets. Great.
Another rush of adrenaline shot through her veins as she saw the teenager shoved to the ground by the Pure man, and she shot forward, her hand clenching into a fist. "Get away." She snarled, her fist colliding with the man's face, knocking him back and away from Wolfram.
She drew her leg back, slamming her foot into the side of the downed Pure's face. "I'm sick and tired of you idiots!"

Wolfram saw a flash of color, and before he knew it, he was free. He scrambled to his feet, just in time to see River aim a kick to the Pure's head. He scrambled for the fallen gun on the ground, grabbing it. He aimed, and without waiting a beat, he fired.
He looked over at River. "T-thanks," he said shakily, glancing up in search of the crow. "Thought I wasn't gonna make it out of there alive for a second."

“Did you lose a contact? Or your glasses?” Indigo couldn’t remember which he was wearing last time she saw him. Does he even wear contacts? Or glasses?
“It’s fine.” She patted the gauze on her arm and stood up unsteadily. Exhaustion was starting to set in, and she was probably the least injured of all of them.

“Uh, n-no, I have my glasses,” Toby replied, pointing to his face. Not that they’re helping, they’re covered in blood. “It’s just- I think it’s just bad t-tunnel vision. I’m just seeing black spots. Spots are better than- better than bodies.” He made an attempt to stand up, but he sat back down when a wave of dizziness washed over him.

Peter opened his mouth but nothing really came out. He ran a trembling hand over his face and tried to say something again, but interrupted himself with a yelp of pain. His leg felt extremely itchy, like a bunch of bees were crawling around under his skin. The thought made him a shiver, but he didn't dare touch his leg, or even look at it.
After Ash spoke, Peter bowed his head over and hunched his shoulders. Now that the adrenalin rush was starting to ebb, he was feeling his weariness. He stared at his hands, and for the first time noticed that they seemed almost.. translucent? Or maybe that was just his imagination.. Then again, I've teleported so much in such a short amount of time.. maybe I'm dissolving. The thought, for some reason, was amusing to him. He lifted his head a bit to look at the blurry figure of Alice and mumbled. "See? You should heal her. I'm fine. I'll.. I'll just dissolve." He then slumped forward and darkness overtook him.

"Peter?" Alice pried her hand out from between his torso and thigh. "Peter." She said again shaking his shoulder gently. She'd never had someone pass out while she was healing them before, but her powers were acting weird.

Camilla gave her sister a tight squeeze, unable to keep from letting a few tears from dripping from her tear ducts. "I'm fine, I'm fine. God, you took forever to wake up. Everything's just... Everything's just chaos, Ali."

Lachlan straightened up, picking up his weapons with a wince and stumbled over closer to Lily and Alec. "Alright, I'll... I'mma go find him. Thank you, Lily. Hey, was he hurt?" He paused glancing at the kid, of whom he didn't recognize.

Alice's breath huffed out of her in a sharp exhale, she felt like she had just been hit in the gut with a brick. She tried to speak but had no words. Slowly she began to shake her head.

"N-no. No, he's not." She whispered, squeezing her eyes shut and wrapping her arms around her middle. Alice shook her head harder, refusing to believe anything else terrible could happen. Air hissed through chattering teeth until she was completely empty, followed by a sharp inhale and she repeated it shouting, "NO HE'S NOT!" Tears broke past her barricade, and she finally folded over on top of her knees sobbing.

Lily nodded, holding the boy against her with one arm. "N-no, I don't think he's hurt. Wolfram found him, I don't know where he came from," she shook her head, shrugging. "Good luck finding him, Lachlan. And be careful."
Lachlan nodded, deciding not to question it. "Thank you, and I will." He said, before turning and limping off.
Wolfram saw a flash of color, and before he knew it, he was free. He scrambled to his feet, just in time to see River aim a kick to the Pure's head. He scrambled for the fallen gun on the ground, grabbing it. He aimed, and without waiting a beat, he fired.

"I... Didn't either." River murmured, staring at the body, before tearing her eyes away from to look Wolfram over, wincing at all his wounds-- And her own.
She gave a shaky laugh. "We should both be dead by now, huh, Wolf?" She sighed. "I think I saw some people heading towards Jen... The van. We need to find out who's there, and who's missing." And I need to find out where Lachlan and Finley are.
"Mom! Wolfram!" River whirled around, faster than she should have since a stab of unbearable pain shot through her abdomen, and she collapsed, with Lachlan hardly being able to catch her. "What... What happened to you two? Come on, come on. Th- There's some med supplies at the van. And Alice woke up and is healing people." He slurred out, heart pounding at the tattered state of his mother and friend.
River let her son help her up before wrapping him in a hug, then pulling back to look him over. "I'm so glad you're okay."

"Peter?" Alice pried her hand out from between his torso and thigh. "Peter." She said again shaking his shoulder gently. She'd never had someone pass out while she was healing them before, but her powers were acting weird.

Tears broke past her barricade, and she finally folded over on top of her knees sobbing.
Camilla also broke down when she saw her sister do so, and dropped down, wrapping her arms around Alice.

Finley stood there, shaking. "I... I wish he wasn't." He whispered, wanting desperately to help his cousins, but at the same time he wanted to curl up in a fetal position and cry too. So he dropped to his knees and placed a bloody hand on each of their shoulders, squeezing tightly as a few tears slid down his face silently.
