How about now? I just made it bigger.

I knowI'm sure we all imagine things are way easier to fix than they actually are. And you can't please everyone!
This must be the part you plan to change, but right now, when you click on "create article" I wish this black box wasn't the first thing that gets displayed:

But this particular page showed up once, I'm not sure how and I wasn't able to find it again, but it was a full page, not a tiny black box:

So... I'm wondering if something like that page (instead of the black box) could be what showed up after clicking "create article" except modified as the disclosure page... where you read the rules in each section first, click one of the links, then choose the category on the following page:

maybe that could help folks stay on track and have a lot less Mods moving stuff around.![]()
You will be there for hours for days!
People aren't looking for tiny print, they're looking for buttons to click. Doesn't matter if they're new or old members or how many posts they have.
I really would like to have a members page article search party...to find some learning center worthy articles.Keep in mind, there will never be a way to 100% eliminate peeps being confused on how / where to post. We'll always have to do some level of clean-up.
Also, we want to make sure that we're not creating a negative user experience for the other 99% of visitors to that section of the site to accommodate the 1% that are confused.
Like most of this interwebs stuff, there are tricky balances and trade-offs.

Is there a way to make these a requirement? As in you cannot post this article incomplete (without photo, title, etc) Or maybe a pop-up box when you click "create article" that says something like "For questions, please post in the appropriate forum".Yup!
We really should come up with a clean template for which peeps can follow for the "perfect article". For example:
- Title
- Intro pic
- Great content / text (around xyz# words is ideal)
- Pictures and relevant links to other sections of BYC mixed within the content
- At the bottom of the article, links to "read and discuss more here" kinds of stuff. This is VERY important to help people continue onto other relevant parts of BYC once they are at the end of the article
Titles are already required, and many of the articles that should be threads contain pictures. I guess it may be possible to edit the template for the create article overlay, and add some text there, but I don't know for sure.Is there a way to make these a requirement? I see what you mean. Has the warning been taken off (Please note, if you have a question...) to be changed? I don't see anything when I clicked "create article". I see in red "You must upload one image"... So, can you put in red/bold, next to create article, a very brief explanation to what an "article" is? Or possibly saying "This will not be replied to as it isn't a thread, please click here *". I'm not very good at explaining things, so I'm sure you guys can come up with something better than that! But you catch my driftTitles are already required, and many of the articles that should be threads contain pictures.
