Okay I'd still take black bears over rattlers I think they technically...exist here. I've never ever seen one. Seems like a common occurrence for you guys!

If you bank your quail eggs are the yolks very pale and nearly white/gray? I hardboiled 16 quail eggs and everyone I have eaten so far is as I described. I was expecting tiny versions of the yolk in a chicken egg, which is very yellow when hardboiled.

How much do your eggs typically weigh? I’ve been trying to figure out for weeks if you have giant quail eggs or small hands. My homegrown ones always seem so tiny.

So, if I were to candle my eggs on day 5, I should discard any that are clear? I'm not sure if I want to play with them at all since it's my first batch, but I might take a couple out to see what I can see.
