➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

I just made an album but got lost somewhere along the way and missed a couple of pictures. I'll figure out which couple I missed later.

These are my first ever cleaned birds.
I did not kill them but I did cut their head off once they were dead and processed them all by myself.
I accidentally cut one's leg off when I was cutting the spine out.

Do you have babies yet?:fl
not yet :hit they are taking their sweet time!! incubator timer still on day 17 and almost 24 hours since external pips noticeable so shouldn’t be much longer before i have babies!!! we just completed another cull.....i had one bloodied over the weekend and severe swelling around head/neck area. when we opened it up.....yucky green in breast area so we just “culled” it. we did “hunter style” processing on this batch and then de-boned the breasts. DH de-boned a couple legs but I left the rest to fry for breakfast! but proud to say that I did more of processing this style than usual and could probably learn to do it by myself in a pinch!! just have to get over the hump of m6 first “dispatch” now:oops:
oh! eggs from “accidental” auction win arrived today!!!

You have chins too?

Yep. They're about 10 years old now. 3 females, 1 male. I feel kind of bad for the boy since he's in a cage by himself, but he can see the girls.

Neat. I have one male; he is around 15 years of age.

My chinchilla lived to be 23. When I got him, I had no idea they lived that long.

I had no idea they lived so long either!! That’s amazing!

Wow those are some big birds! The jumbos seem to grow fast ha

They look great though! Nice job!

my falb fee tux is a confirmed male!!:hit but will definitely be a keeper and high hopes that he makes some pretty babies!!! the pearl/pansy looks to be a hen and should start laying soon! Mystery batch #1 has been moved to grow-out cage and my “3” including “lefty” will be moved to shed brooder as soon as I clean it out to make room for new babies if they ever get around to hatching!!! buttons go to lockdown on Wednesday.....still deciding whether i’m going to move them to incubator #2 with current hatch or set-up to hatch them in the J12.???
