I have a bald hatchling. I thought it was just wet still, but I picked it up just now and it is deginitely dry and bald. I recall some others had such cases. Did the feathers grow in eventually and did the bird thrive in your case. I am s bit worried about it maintaining its body temp without much down feathers.

I can't remember who had the naked baby.
Was it @CoturnixComplex ?

I think it jus needs to finish fluffing @BReeder! Looks like the fluff just dried in clumps or laid down, you might be able to free it up w an old toothbrush
The picture is not doing justice to how bald it is. Maybe you are correct, and I would live it if you are. It really looks like it doesn't have much feathering though.

Each piece of fluff looks too thick in the pic those cant be individual pieces so it must be bunches of it right? Let me know if u try it :pop

it’s been a long, rough, and very emotionally draining day!! toe traps set at outside corners of the fence, live traps on shed roof. electric fence run full perimeter of both chicken run and aviary. I attempted sewing of all the holes in the netting but black thread on black netting above your head in the dark is not fun!! hopefully i will be able to finish it first light tomorrow without anyone getting out and no one getting in! I even spent about 15 minutes in other neighbors backyard hoping to find button with no luck. they have lots of stuff over there that he could hide under to avoid predators so slim chance but maybe he survived and will find his way back home. maybe we can get some of the stuff actually on our ā€œto doā€ list done tomorrow :fl
