➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

Paint their toenails something other than red. Take a video. I wanna see it. :)
Lol that was my first idea but i feel...they'd end up with trendy quail yoga pants
I just used zip ties. Little bit of a learning curve for sizing though and some of them fell off.:hmm Some are still on almost a year later though. Need to be tight enough that when they do the pointed toe backward stretch it doesn’t slide off.
I'm scared of ripping their legs off to tighten them. Did you do it when they were done growing?

one of our chukars that got flushed in the predator attack came home!!! it took a lille bit of coaxing/chasing but we got him into the aviary! started tearing out the garden, and other work but then my male button hatchling found the 1 gap in my incubator and got under the grate....we got him out and 2 buttons (male and female) in the brooder. i moved remainder of buttons to j12 (hoping ok) and stopped turner/raised humidity. will move homegrowns out later.

not exactly sure why (cuz i’m same loud mouth “drunk” b*t*ch that he’s been married to for 24 years) but dh is beyond mad at me this afternoon and refuses to help me with any of the remaining “to do” list after i panicked with the incubator incident. i think he’s just exhausted and too much of an a-hole to admit it. unfortunately it comes with territory of we are together 24/7 and have spoiled/ungrateful adult children who still live at home! have gotten a lot done with the birds but still have to sew up one more hole and he still needs to fix one area of electric fencing. i hate when we fight like this because it makes me just want to quit on the birds and everything i’ve worked for the past year +....i know i could do it all by myself but having help and support is better!
