I am only allowed to clean the cage. No one else will be careful enough or do it right. How much does quail cage cleaning pay? I'm looking for a part time job.
5 quail are bigger than Bobo. I don't buy him eating 5.
Now, 5 quail eating Bobo, I could see that.

You would go crazy if you saw the floor of my brooder. Two puppy training pads are laid in there. All of my chicks make quite a bit of poop, and quickly! I rolled up the training pads yesterday and then scraped around the edges with a trowel to get everything out. It cleans easy enough, but it's already a mess again. Before cleaning timeView attachment 1649007 View attachment 1649008 View attachment 1649010

Twelve paper towels.
Tonight I will take the top layer (6) out.
Tomorrow morning I take the bottom layer out and replace with 18.
So far I am only cleaning 3 times a day.You would go crazy if you saw the floor of my brooder. Two puppy training pads are laid in there. All of my chicks make quite a bit of poop, and quickly! 3 times a day? Oh, you are either a real clean fanatic or I am a terrible quail dad. I let them go 4 days before cleaning. I do clean the waterer daily and clean the feeder if there's poop in the feed. The trough on my 3lb feeder is just wide enough for the chicks to get in it, and they willingly do. Not too much pooping in the feeder though. They seem to have to eat and run as others want to get in to eat.So far I am only cleaning 3 times a day.
Probably by tomorrow I will have to start cleaning more often.
I really really hope I can force myself to put them outside soon.
I am trying to lower the temp on the warmer side of the container daily/quickly so they won't die when I do put them out although when I do put them out I will have the same light bulb on part of their cage but I don't think it will get it too warm outside.
