I had some catastrophic event in my brooder while I was gone overnight. I came home to several dead coturnix and 1 button lost. DH thinks it’s because I didn’t crush the food but it the paper towels appeared to have gotten wet and dried again so I think it was a water incident. Regardless, (or irregardless @R2elk) im down to 12 PF (a couple still deformed) and 3 buttons.

The wedding for DD#1 went smashingly well. They are off honeymooning.

1 chick and 7 pip/zips this morning. 21 total eggs for QB#12 with 0 clears and 0 EQ. Even the egg I put on the side as a question mark has started zipping. Hatch also going well.

Appearently, Garden Casual doesn't include the Father. I bought a new suit and looked amazing.

lost 1 more I’m NEVER leaving chicks again!!! but we got some more work done today on expanding the koi pond....and while he may change his mind, DH has agreed to let me get a duck!!! he will use my netting over the koi pond area for swimming and it (or it and a friend) can always go in with the other birds during non-swimmy time! i figure i have some time while brooding to figure out all the logistics.......

Hello everyone! I just took these guys in today. They had been dumped and abandoned in an alley in a city about three hours from me. In a series of rehoming, they've ended up at my place. Obviously the male needs some more hens, so I'll be hatching. Can someone good with colors confirm for me that the female is pharoah? The male is gold, maybe, or perhaps italian?

Yeah the lighting is bad - they're in my garage. I didn't want to stress him out further taking him to somewhere with better light. But I can try to get a better one tomorrow in some natural light after they're more settled.

Yes, I could definitely use some eggs. Lol. This poor female needs some relief. I was thinking of buying some but I didn't plan for it and already spent my 'bird fun money' from this paycheck so I'll have to wait a bit before I can.

he does look like a gold but not quite italian.....(but as stated, maybe better lighting will help). @Kiki can hopefully help you out with some eggs to get more hens!! Congratulations on your new additions!! they are adorable

@casportpony ......RK has khaki campbell ducklings and a yellow duckling (i didn’t pay attention to the breed). what should i look for in choosing a KC duckling??
