Did you do a staggered hatch? Really strange that the majority didn't hatch together!I woke up to 3 more buttons. One of them is a tux. That makes 9. I think this is going to be all from this hatch. The last egg is one of the dark ones that I can barely see into, and I see a clear air cell, but no movement, no pip, nothing when I tap on the shell. I'll give it another 24 hours.

It has been a long time but I recall reading somewhere that it was recommended to not set the eggs the day they were laid but to wait at least 24 hours.Does it make a difference if I “rest” eggs for a few days versus incubating the same day they’re laid? I thought you were supposed to let them sit but don’t remember for sure?
The yellow one came out of one of my HG eggs. Yours have a lot of pips, but no one else is ready to zip yet. Yellow is an early hatcher.Omg!
Are these my eggs?
I put 3 eggs in a day later than the others. The three that hatched this morning weren't all the ones that I put in a day late, though. They all hatched within 24 hours of each other.Did you do a staggered hatch? Really strange that the majority didn't hatch together!
I am planning to set just a small batch and was debating popping them in the incubator right away versus letting them sit a couple days. I’ll probably just put today’s and tomorrow’s in on Wednesday then.I t has been a long time but I recall reading somewhere that it was recommended to not set the eggs the day they were laid but to wait at least 24 hours.
I don't recommend setting eggs daily since there is nothing wrong with saving them up for a week and then setting them. This can work really well for those with a large incubator and a separate hatcher as you are rotating eggs in and out of the incubator on a weekly basis. The hatcher being in lockdown once a week gives time to clean it out before each new weekly batch goes on lockdown.
I do set eggs the same day they are hatched along with all the stored eggs. I have not found any reason to not set the newly laid eggs or the ones that have been stored.
After I get 20-ish, I've been adding the next 2 days' laid eggs as soon as I collect them at the end of the day. I got side tracked and didn't see if they hatched, but the last 2 were the last day's laid eggs. Staggered hatch and all that worked.I am planning to set just a small batch and was debating popping them in the incubator right away versus letting them sit a couple days. Watch out--these birdies fly! And I hear they may also bop their little heads on their ceiling and kill themselves. I don't remember what you do to prevent this. Pillow? Cathedral brooder ceilings?I get home and one of my quail got out of the brooder andall over the floor
They are a little over a week! Already flyingwhy didn't you warn me
