Ok hatch is done, all the snowie eggs hatched, 8/8 and 29/32 celadons. One was pipped, beak out and shrink wrapped, and 2 were late quitters not fully developed, all dead in shell. Overall, a great success! This is my first HG group of snowies. They are not celadon carriers, but in about a week and a half I have some snowie celadon carriers hatching. The benefit of the double silver roo over non silvers, I got all silver chicks, I have 2 that look like whites, (maybe Baldi laid and egg or two and I didn’t notice they were hers) no bulging eyes and all hatched fine on their own. I’m hoping by spring I can have a pen of double silvers producing meat for me, not to be a meat elitist, but the last double silver was much less gamey than my usual birds. This is an interesting side project I never expected, but I hope I can keep them alive long enough to be large enough to eat.
