➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

if you waited that long after hatching and were as careful and quick as it seems you were, chances are that everyone will be ok. just keep and eye on the pipped one for progress until bedtime. (and keep us posted)

Oh thank you so much! Makes me feel better!!! I've been so worried! Every time I check on it I still see it's little beak moving, I think I'm just being a worry wart! Lol I will stay posted!

and so it begins!! 56 in lockdown....49 looked awesome....7 iffy. hoping for at least 30. major river flooding again....trying to decide when/if to evacuate riverfront camp....and 1 of my 4 week olds went missing today.:hithubby decided to leave cage open and let them get some yard time and when i went out 7 were already in the cage, i caught 2 more, and no sign of #10. we searched everywhere. i’m going back out 1 more time with lantern in case it was hidden from view.:idunno

I had two quail hatch and left them to dry in the incubator for 48 hours, I quickly opened it to remove them as they were nice and fluffy and being quite destructive.. when I opened I noticed one egg was pipping and now I'm afraid I've shrink wrapped it... While removing the other two I did place in a hot wet paper towel to keep humidity up. Did I shrink wrap my others??
The two you took out...are they alive?
Next time please don't leave them in the bator that long. Only a few hours not days.

No you didn't hurt the pipped egg by opening the bator for a second.

Yes they are alive and thriving! Energetic little boogers! Lol. See this is why I shouldn't Google! Lol I read they can stay in the incubator for up to 48 hours.. while the others are hatching! If I had known to get them out sooner I would have.. ugh. Well now I know. This is all new to me! So grateful for this place!! So once they are dry and fluffy I'm safe to get them out quickly?

Quicker than two days. I'm surprised they are alive.
12 hours would be too long for me.

How many eggs are still in?

How many eggs are still in?

Well thank you! Now I know. 23 eggs still. But when I candled at day 9 I believe, some were still clear so not sure how many I truly have left to hatch. The one that I posted about above that's pipping now looks to be zipping slowly. Today is the true hatch day. How many days after this should I call it?

Five days.

What bator are you using?
