➡ Quail Hatch Along🥚

My triplets.
One turned into a monster over night. I just caught him chasing his two brothers around.
I need to think of something quick.
I have an empty cage.
Do I separate him for a few weeks until the crew 19 is ready to butcher or do I go ahead and kill him now while I'm good and mad?
I don't mess around with trouble makers. At the worst you can toss it in the freezer until you have others to invite to dinner.

That's amazing @BullChick !

Sorry I disappeared guys. My first chick immediately found a new and inventive way to murder itself. It's only my second hatch in this incubator and I missed a spot where the stupid things could get wedged. It wasn't even the egg rotating tray, I had already taken that out directly after that picture was taken, it was the hatching mat! I've fixed it. Anyways, twas kind of a major bummer. Mostly just guilt-cried until the next ones came along :hit

I got four more overnight, and another eight or so have externally pipped. I'm expecting a really staggered hatch because of the split incubators. Good test though, one set obviously pipping earlier/more aggressively. Will up the temp slightly on the other for next batch.

I have to run to the feed store this morning (no doubt they will all pop out while I'm gone) and then somehow finish my essay while on hatch watch

This has been a stressful quail week :( But I will take pics of new babies when I get back.

The just came inside...I watched him for a while and didn't see him misbehave. If I catch him in the act he is done.
