āž” Quail Hatch Along🄚

My eggos finally started hatching yesterday! We've got 10 in the brooder right now and another 3 in the incubator still drying off, with a few more still working at their shells. Pretty sure we placed about 24 eggs, so I'm happy with these numbers so far.

My favorite is the darker/almost orangish with stripes one that's slightly above the big gaggle in the above picture. My second favorite is the darkest one that's still in the incubator:

I wish there was a comprehensive picture guide available somewhere of what chicks -> adult growth looked like, though. I'm super interested in knowing what these babies will look like all grown up!
I made this a while back, it doesn’t have adult pics, but you can match up your chicks to the color and google the color to see what the adults will look like.

I think mine have finished! Out of 23 viable eggs at lockdown I got 16! Yay! I think I have about half my eggs and half of the purchased eggs that hatch, not bad for shipped eggs! Yay for the Nurture Right!

I have some colors I’ve never had before! Two that I’m curious about, I’m not supposed to get any English whites, but I swear there’s a black dot on her head? They’re so pretty!! šŸ˜

The one on the right looks like roux and silver, I think it will be very pretty. The other might be a faker, it’s common with silver, they look like they’ll be all white, but as they get pins, you’ll see light silver or silver/roux emerge.

My hatch has started, about half are the K dales, a blue male with my black hen, a pearl, 2 sparklies, and 2 celadons (Tibetan and scarlet). The other half are my snowie celadons. There’s about 20 out so far, and I think (hope) one is black. It definitely hatched out of one of the black hen’s eggs, fingers crossed.
